Which one is more costly to maintain? MT or AT?
Although I have the capability to drive MT and AT vehicles, I can only choose one. Which one usually has more problems?

Normally, MT is more costly. If you drive a MT car, and your driving style is wild, it is likely that your clutch burns out quickly, so it will cost you more than those of an automatic gearbox as you will be buying and replacing clutches more frequently.

Since I’ve driven both cars before, I am gonna go with AT. If you want to do the maintenance on AT, then changing the automatic transmission fluid is a must. The amount of the fluid for AT is twice as large as that of MT. This means that each oil change costs at least twice as much as an automatic.

AT is more expensive for drivers to maintain. You see, AT has many components and complex systems that are prone to malfunction. So, for this matter, maintaining AT is gonna cost you more.

I am no expert here, but as a car enthusiast, I feel that the costs are not that much of a difference. Maybe manual transmissions are a little bit cheaper?
