WapCar Help Replace my old Mercedes engine or buy a new car? Two days ago, I took my car to the shop because my oil pan blew. However it is too late as my mechanic said there were metal flakes in what was left of the oil. The only way to maintain it is to replace the engine but it would cost a lot. My friend who shared with me said that it wouldn’t drive as the same after replacing and it is a great possibility that there will be wasting money. He recommended me to buy a new car. But, actually I'd like to keep the car. Because it is a reliable car that always provides comfort and excellent driving experience to me beside the maintenance matter. Btw, it only had about 200K km on it when this happened. What's everyone's experience with replacing an engine? Which is the better choice for me between replacing my old Mercedes engine or buying a new car??
