Basic information
Volkswagen Polo Hatchback 2020
Reasons why I bought this car
Daily workhorse
Car selection process
- I had a budget of RM70,000.
- Models that I have considered include: Jazz, Yaris, Myvi
Reasons why I chose this car:
- Good NVH
- Strong chassis (unibody)
- Very good handling
- Reliable drivetrain (1.6 mpi+ torque converter)
- Cheapest continental car
User experience
- I have already done 3000 km
Since the purchase, my thoughts about the car are: nothing much. It's a very good car for a daily workhorse. Drives very well in corners and also very stable at high speeds.
Pros & Cons

Summary
Although it is an mk5, where other parts of the world are moving on to polo mk6, it is still a very good looking car and drives well. Compared to its competitor in the same class, none come close in terms of its nvh and handling except for Mazda 2 I presumed. I picked this model due to its 1.6 mpi engine and Tiptronic transmission which is very reliable as opposed to turbo engines which needed higher maintenance cost and also DSG transmission which have a lot of issues. Plus, it comes with 3 years of free service and 5 years warranty.
