Make and Model: 2015 Hyundai Tucson Sport 2.0
Time of Purchase: 29th July 2015
Price of vehicle: RM135,000
All in one. For work, sometimes for family needs as parents are getting old and the SUV body type makes them easy to get inside and out of the car also for work as I was using Hyundai Matriks and decided to replace it as it's getting old because of being used for 15 years.
I had a budget of RM150,000
Model(s) that I have considered include: Honda CRV, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Santa Fe
Reasons why I chose this car:
Value for money. I test-drive all of my options. Honda CRV gave me the feel of underpowering, Volkswagen Tiguan was quite a good drive and Hyundai Santa Fe was also good, but it was a bit bigger since it's a 7 seater. I found that Tuscon was farther practical and easy to park, quite powerful the test drive was an impressive one.
I have already done 80,000 km
Since the purchase, my thoughts about the car are:
The Hyundai Tuscon is a good car, despite lov RV. Since we have owned two different models of Hyundai and we had a good experience with it, so I decided to go for this model. I find the front seat is comfortable, can adjust the height, and so on, just that there is no electric seat option, everything is manual. The interior design of the car is quite simple but it looks great for me, the finishing has too much plastic and leather mixture. But so far no rattling noise and I am glad for it. For the full of around RM 70 to RM 80, it gives me around 500 to 550 km of mileage for city driving and around 650 to 700 for long-distance. I felt that FC is quite acceptable for the size of the SUV. It has a panoramic roof and I felt it's cool. Not using it too much but sometimes can show off with friends la. The car height seems to be not a problem for elder passengers to get in and out and the seat are comfortable for my parents, my mom didn’t complain much of back pain even for a long drive. And the boot is spacious enough to for putting things and bags. Not too big, not too small, just nice. The standard 17-inch rims have a nice design, and of course, need a good tyre for a good drive. Currently using Continental UC6. The NVH is good even at high speed. The 6-speed automatic gearbox sometimes felt like lag when going uphills. But on straight, no issues. The instrument cluster might be simple, but it had the necessary information needed, like distance traveled, balance km to empty tank, and current FC while driving. It even had height adjustment for the headlight, it has projector light but would be better if they provide with factory fitted HID or Xenon as I felt it would be much brighter compared to halogen. Oh yes, it even has LED daytime light. It even had a front and behind the sensor together with a front and reverse camera. The radio head unit is a touch screen with gos, but I felt that the touchscreen is not responsive enough especially when driving.
Pros
Good FC
Nice Ride
Upgraded Nappa Leather from the previous Model
Decent NVH and handling
Cons
Less responsive Head Unit
Plastic Finishing that might give rattling noise later on
No rear air-cond vent
No automatic central locking after start driving. Have to press the button manually.
No electric folding side mirror
Total Score: 4
Performance: 4
Quality & Features: 3
Space: 4
Ride Comfort: 4
Fuel Economy: 4
Price & Cost: 4
It's a good car with its own pros and cons, but if RV doesn’t matter, why not a Hyundai.
Nothing much, except showing off that Korean car has a panoramic roof.

There is slight jerking for this car at lower speed, esp. when stuck in jams. Except for this, I'm quite satisfied with this kimchi car
