2009 Suzuki Swift 1.5 Auto
I was looking for a compact car for daily use as I was working as a sales person and it
requires me to drive in the hectic city of Kuala lumpur and the occasional sales trip all over Malaysia. Japanese model of course and due to its Rally heritage and reliability, and
of course the looks made choose this car as it checks all my boxes well.
Car Selection Process
I had a budget of below RM 100,000 (for a brand new car)
Model(s) that I have considered include: Ford Fiesta, Proton Satria Neo, Mini Cooper
After going through all the possible prospects between the three mentioned cars, I went for Swift because of the looks and also the price. Rethinking of also the prospects of the higher second hand value or converting to manual for the fun weekend drives as well. And at the time I’ve managed to get a good workshop nearby.
I have already done 204,038 km
This is an excellent small car that serves as well as bigger cars. Fun to drive, still looks sporty till now. Costly to maintain but most original parts are hardy and advised. Not a single regret owning this car. Overall reliable, reliable, reliable!!

This review is based on a brand new car I bought in 2009. Getting a good condition second hand car is quite hard. It's better to buy from a private or enthusiast to really get a well looked after car.

The best Suzuki Swifts to date was the 1989 to 1991 edition.
