2019 Perodua Myvi 1.5H
Firstly I need a newer car for now since I have 1 competition car which is not for daily use anymore.
Secondly my family old Wira have lots of problems so we decide to get another new car as spare use.
When this Perodua Myvi launched in 2017, at the first glance of the eye sight it caught my attention. Thus me & my family never owned a hatchback car before with the latest tech & features, so I decide to choose this Myvi MG3.
I had a budget of RM40k-RM55k
Model(s) that I have considered include: Perodua Myvi, Perodua Beza, Perodua Axia, Proton Saga, Proton Persona
Reasons why I chose this car:
Sporty exterior design
Keyless entry with push-start as standard
Spacious interior
Very practical
LED headlights as standard
Build-in smart tag (for 1.5 variants only)
I have already done 12,010 km
Since the purchase, my thoughts about the car are:
This car is pretty alright to me. So far this Myvi consider as my weekend car to drive around and have some cars gathering with friends around Ipoh area.
For maintenance wise I always sent back to Perodua service centre which is nearby my house for service to keep the car at its best condition. So far so good~
Pros
Reliablility
Practicality
Spacious interior
Full size spare tyre
Value for money
Comes with 15" alloy wheels
Comes with front, side skirts & spoiler (only available for 1.5variants only)
Cons
Bad NVH while driving on dry & wet surface
Lack of arm rest (you need to add it via aftermarket)
Poor audio quality
Slight delay throttle respond
Eco idle is pretty annoying although it helps a little on save fuel
Total Score: 5
Performance: 5
Quality & Features: 5
Space: 5
Ride Comfort: 4
Fuel Economy: 5
Price & Cost: 4
A very practical Malaysian car with latest tech & features which Perodua can gave us throughout the market. With the same engine family as Toyota, the Dual VVTi engine really shows its reliability even more.
For high way cruise is pretty decent, of course is way better than its predecessor yet not as stable as Proton cars for sure when drive over 120km/h and above.
Fuel consumption wise, driving in Ipoh is a totally different story compare to KL or more towards highway long distances driving. So my average fuel is around 10.5+-km/litre running in small town area, for highway will be way higher around 14-20+-km/litre is not a problem.
The suspension really does absorbs speed bumps & small pothholes but just when it comes to big pothholes & speed bumps which build badly is quite bad to drive over, sometimes you need to go left and right just to avoid the potholes and stuff. Another bad point is road noise but that can be solved via soundproof on the wheel arch & better sets of tyres.
For now I plan to do some further upgrades for the car. For example:
Add few more Ultra racing bars for safety and increase stability
Wheel arch, roof & doors need to do soundproof
Looking for lighter & better looking sport rims
Better sets of tyres (Pilot Sport 3 *195/50/R15*)
Upgrade to the next level sound system
For this generation Perodua Myvi is not only a car that brings you from point A to B, yet it's a car that gives you a lot of features. Maintenance & cost wise is pretty alright for a malaysian B-segment hatchback car.
For new buyer information:
There's no more fuel pump issue for upcoming Myvi already. (problem solve)
*Do press the push start total of 3 times to start the car. (Let the electronics run first before you actual start the car)
After using it for 1 year & 7months I've no complaints about it since it is my weekend car anyway. Pretty satisfied with the overall features & reliability. Although lots of owners complain about rattling noise in the cabin and etc stuff. But for me if wanna give a rating for the car will be 8 out of 10, is a good car to the nation.
Even one of my friend saw I drove it for some time and saw various modifications through online it started to look around and purchased one of it and also same spec as mine so we can drive & enjoy it together.
