Basic information of my car:
Myvi Ezi
Just like my other car, the Toyota Corolla ae101 SEG, this car was also a legacy car. It was originally bought new by my younger sister and she used it from 2006 - 2014 when she decided to seek out a replacement for a larger car; selected the Nissan Almera.
Initially she wanted to trade in the Myvi but my parents suggested why not transfer it to me.
Reason/s:
- It had very low mileage; 43K + KM after 8 years of use. My sis only uses her car to commute from home to her office daily which was just a 10 min drive away.
- Amid the knicks and dents on the front and rear doors both sides (caused by weaving traffic motorbikes) the paintwork was still good.
- The interior seats and dash was like a new car; it even had the new car smell after so many years!
- The car was 75% parked in her workplace basement garage and at home covered as well.
- It had only made one outstation trip to Kuantan for a weekend trip in 2008 with some friends.
When it was transferred to me, the first thing I did was to take it for a long distance drive to JB for an office related trip. The engine was sluggish because it never went further than PJ/KL. But gradually after a few more long distance trips the engine started to improve on its pick up.
Fuel economy was
6.55 to 7.87 litres/ 100km (highway)
9.72 to 10.2 litres/ 100km (city/ traffic congestion)
Current odometer reading is 169K ++ km and just completed one of the 7K km oil change using semi synthetic motor oil.
Ever Since I took over the Myvi, no major problems with normal wear and tear brake pads, tires ( 2 x set of 4 pcs ) and batteries ( 3x ).
The kapcai horn was upgraded earlier with a HELLA horn
Both LH and RH side mirrors replaced and left unpainted (original black)
LH due to attrition with traffic weaving kapcai in city congestion 2018
RH lost due to hitting a jaywalking foreigner's arm to avoid knocking him down 2016
Best thing he must be a superman cos he just grinned and rubbed his arm and walked away!
AC compressor and coil replaced due to wear and tear in 2018
Front struts replaced 2018.
The Myvi is the family workhorse car for groceries, pickup dropoff and the other car for the P plate driver/s.
Still had a strong resale value based on my insurance agents database at RM15K insured value.
CON:
It's no zoom zoom performance but a point A to B vehicle in every sense.
Acceleration is mediocre
PRO:
Overall a 4.5 for its
Easy maintenance
Spare parts accessibility
Easy to park
Small turning circle radius
Space wise ; great legroom for 4 adults
Future:
Will continue using this car for some time
