Ever since the Bezza was launched, my dad's eyesight was fixated onto it and hence, this is how we got the current Bezza, a 1.3 X version.
Undeniably, this is a car with its pros and cons. Here, I will like to share my two cents about this 2016 Bezza here.
*Exterior*
It is not beautiful to start with. However, this is also a common problem for a sedan-based hatchback where usually it has a bit of a weird proportion. This was further worsen by the fact that it has a smaller wheel.
However, I have to praise that Perodua had nailed the front end as I love the aggressive stance and I wish the rear get a better treatment too.
Furthermore, using fabric for the seats means that it won't get hot easily as compared to its leather.
The center console is a conventional radio as shown below and I don't fiddle with it that much. The only function I had explored is Bluetooth which I adored it. This allows me to connect my phone with the audio seamlessly and enjoy my favourite songs at anywhere, anytime when I am driving.
The 1.3-liter engine is adequate for daily urban commuting needs. It was smooth and although sometimes it jerked during low speeds, I find the experience generally likeable.
However, if you need more overtaking power when driving on B-roads, this might be its Achilles Heel because of lag felt after stepping on the accelerator pedal.
Handling wise, it doesn't gives me confidence in entering a corner at high speed as its suspension is tuned for comfort orientation. Given it was pushed smoothly, the car still performs decent enough provided if we don't set a bar too high.
*Features*
For a RM43k car, I found it amazed when this car comes with a front parking sensor. This is a feature usually found on higher end vehicles that are at least three times more expensive than the Bezza. It helps a lot in parking environment where we can judge the distance of the car more accurately as compared to relying on only our instinct.
Furthermore, it does come with the basic ABS and EBD. However, my main concern is the lack of ESP with this car. We might not need it on a frequent basis but it will come in handy when we need it.
Last but not least, I find this to be a perfect all-rounder at this price range. However, for those who wants better equipment and better handling cars, you might want to give the Persona a thought perhaps.
