How to up or downshift quickly and smoothly in MT？ I'm an MT driver. I’ve driven my MT car for almost one year and I can't change my gear as good as what movie shows. Is there any skills of upshifting and downshifting? Is heel-and-toe necessary for daily driving?

Well, shifting at 2.5-3k rpm would be the most fuel saving and optimal to reduce jerks when you lift off the throttle. This is more suitable for daily driving, for grocery shopping trips. Then release your clutch gently, don't release it like how Fast and furious characters do😂. Then if you wanna brake from high-speeds and downshift immediately, then you gotta learn heel and toe. It's not necessary to learn heel, but it's an advance skill to learn, it's fun and it's important in some situations. If you're learning H&T for the first time, do it in an empty parking lot or an empty space. Drive safe!

You could try double clutching for smoother downshifts. I haven't tried it myself, but seems like it works. Try make further research on this laa :3

Yes it is necessary to do heel and toe for a smooth drive. But in practice, it should be toe and toe rev matching. (First and last toe) cause normal daily car's accelerator pedal is higher than brake pedal and its is difficult or quite impossible to do a perfect heel and toe. So try toe-toe rev matching will helps. At least it works perfectly for me especially wearing wider shoes.
