Does Malaysia need a new car manufacturer? I believe that Proton is no longer an independent Malaysian car manufacturer. Rather, it is like another home for Geely. But I believe that Malaysians have the ability to do nearly 100% of the development of a car without partnering with another brand. Should Malaysia have an 100% independent brand of its own?

No lah.. Citizens from other countires could enjoy high-end cars with better specs and quality than local cars, even if there is no local car brands. We've fed up with low-quality products and high taxes on import cars

Yes, but it has to be a private manufacturer, not built by the government. If there is a boss who is really keen on investing in the nation's cars, why not focus on better public transportation?

Hell no. Not at this time, and protectionism will spoil our market again.
