Road trip around KL with my Vios

Ever been to KL? haha, it’s a weird question, but how many of you actually have taken the time out to drive around the city? now a bit difficult, but I did it a few months ago before the MCO and these are just some pics i’d like to share with you. 

1. Sultan Abdul Samad building

The old train station that’s located in the middle of KL was the first place that I went to. Here, I explored the library and the place where there was a field. 

2. River of Life

Next, I went down to River of Life and took some pictures there as well. The plan for this place was to create a place where hawkers could set up stalls and people to visit the area, but this plan will have to be paused for now…

3. Tugu Negara

To cap off my trip I went down to tugu negara, which is also pretty nearby. That’s the good thing about KL - everything is just nearby and different attractions are not far away. That said, it was a nice place to visit that is free and also patriotic.

4. Perdana Park

Last but not least, I visited Perdana Park. Haa...most of you may not be aware of this place because it’s not very well known but it’s one beautiful garden located right in the heart of the city. Entrance is free, but food and drinks are really expensive here, so you just better enjoy the view and bring you own drink to enjoy the place. 

So to sum up, I only have one humble car that can take me around town. Now it looks much better, but I always enjoy creating memories with this car. 

More boom-boom pow for my Vios

Those of you got Vios would know my problem - the audio is not good! It’s either just very bland or no bass. So last weekend I decided to spice things up a bit and get myself a set of speakers to improve the sound a bit.

First I need to get some non-standard speakers. Vios speaker size is 8-inch and these are coaxial speakers.

Other than that you’ll need a set of wire harness, screwdriver, plugs and some tape.

Let’s start our work here by dismantling the front head unit...

I tested to see if the rear speaker plug matched the radio socket and I was quite satisfied with the result.

The design of the car is relatively simple, so the process of removing the door panel is quite easy.

A couple of screws around there, and it’s all off.

This is how it looks inside.

See the black line? That’s silicon glue, be careful not to touch it as it is very sticky and hard to wash off. Carefully remove the plastic, then you can access the speaker cutout already.

I did a test to check whether the speaker socket can be inserted into the plastic socket or not. How to tell whether it is put in the right place? When you hear a tick, it's plugged in.

The result of the installation effect is about the same as what I imagined.

The next step is to install a screw cap.Everything was ready, what I needed to do was connect the machine and rear speaker. The MOD is basically finished.

After I finished the speaker, I modified the headlights of my car.

After the rear speaker was modified, the sound was improved a lot, which greatly satisfied my needs.
