2021 Proton Saga R3 Limited Edition

The reason why I bought this car

Because want to replace my father's old car and wanted to give our family a new first-ever experience in our life a feeling of a new car even the cheapest car because we are not a rich family.

As a kid, I always wanted the best for my dad and wasn’t willing to see my dad drive an old car that was already there before I was born and my dad also had knee pain problems and so on, so he was powerless to drive the old coupe car anymore.

Car selection process

• I had a budget of RM 40,000
• Models that I have considered include Perodua Bezza, Suzuki Swift (Secondhand), Honda City (Secondhand), Perodua Myvi (Secondhand)

Reasons why I chose this car:

I chose this car because this car is so special and different from the others. After all, this car was launched on my birthday which is 18/02.

I also chose this car because I believe driving excitement from Proton can make me satisfied. I also saw a lot of reviews of various cars with my dad, especially from Nazz Abdullah. My father is also very supportive of cars from the Proton.

As we can see, so many Proton cars are on the road right now such as Proton Wira and more, and I believe Proton now has improved their cars. My family believes Proton is able to provide the best car for us to travel. We also decided not to hear people talking bad about Proton.

User Experience

• I have already done 3,588 km
• My average fuel consumption is 5.8 L/km

After the purchase, I was so excited and the salesman decided to send the car to the front door of our house with so many ribbons on the car. When I see this car in real life with my eyes, the car is so beautiful and I was really happy with my purchase.

Everything is working perfectly, the car is solidly built, and the driving feels so good. Features in this car are also acceptable for the price because Proton has more importance on the car's durability. The sound system that has in this car is also equivalent to an expensive car.

This new Proton Saga especially R3 Limited Edition has so much improved built quality and styling compared to the old ones, the doors also sound solid when closed. This car also has a strut bar at the engine bay to give more stability, safety, and more driving pleasure.

Even though this car is affordable, this car also has safety features equipped like ESC, ABS, 2 Airbags, and so on. This car also has a 7-inch multimedia touch screen, a reverse camera with parking sensors at front and back, and no issues about that.

Pros & Cons

Pros

• Beautiful R3 styling for more exclusivity and to appreciate the victory of the R3 motorsports team
• A special edition with only 2000 was made
• Got better sound system with so many configurations
• Got yellow wrapped steering wheel, leather seat with R3 Limited Edition logo stitching.
• Driving feels solid especially with the strut bar at engine bay originally come from Proton
• No need to do modification because it's already beautifully designed for the R3 motorsports team

Cons

• Have some little rattling sound when driving but it's acceptable
• Build quality is just okay but less than a month the car spoiler come out a little bit maybe because the glue is not strong
• The car when new has trouble starting the engine. Have to try to start it 2 times then the engine will start running. But after 3000km and more, it is automatically okay and easier to start the engine until now.

Summary:

In conclusion, I have no regrets about choosing this car and I am satisfied. What I’ve thought all along about the Proton is true and this car has proven it. Now, this is my father more enjoying driving this car all the time and my father is so happy.

I am more proud of driving the Proton because it's our country car and everyone is saying this car is so beautiful. So that's why this car is sold out faster even in Pakistan. For now, the car is good even after the first service and I have no issue with it.

Last but not least, my dad always keeps turning on the wiper because my dad forgot the Proton turn signal is on the left side. But now I think it's okay and when I'm driving Proton cars also I always remember the turn signal is on the left side.
