Basic information
-
Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid
-
Car price 1,199,000 baht
Reasons why I bought this car
The most important thing is to replace my old Vigo (Hilux). I looked at various reviews and stumbled upon this Toyota Corolla Cross because it is a B-SUV first, not as big as the Toyota Fortuner, but rather seats a family of 3-4 people comfortably.
Exterior wise, it looks good in a way! Although the grille is big, it can be modified a bit by adding chrome or black grille surrounds. In addition, this is the top variant that is equipped with a 360-degree camera, a moonroof, an adaptive cruise control system, and an automatic dimming rearview mirror.
The interior looks a lot like the Corolla Altis', but the range-topping variant has Terra Rossa coloured seats to pair with the red/black interior, instead of just pure black like other models. Some people may not choose the red interior. I urge you to try sitting in one if you see it, you might just like it!
User experience
The steering wheel is lightweight, feels very comfortable, and the suspension is soft. There is generous safety kit too, whether it is a pre-collision safety system, automatic high beam adjustment, lane departure warning or center lane assist. These provide drivers with more security.
You can drive around in Normal mode. To speed up a bit more, make sure to change to PWR (power) mode for better response.
Pros&Cons
Pros
-
Of course, save fuel because there are hybrid electric motors that can help. If driving in the city, it can be as low as 17-25 km/l, it is very economical
-
The cabin, the luggage room at the rear, is spacious
-
Various security systems, 360-degree panoramic camera
-
The suspension is really comfortable. It absorbs the vibration of the road well
-
For me, the moonroof helps to increase the transparency of the cabin, making it feel bigger
-
Attention to detail such as lighting on the door cards and on the cupholders
Cons
-
Needs better tyres for rain performance
-
Engine sound + wind sound blowing into the cabin when using a speed exceeding 120 km/h
-
The adaptive cruise control system has not yet reached the same level used by Altis, even though the car is a top-of-the-line model with a price of $1.2 million baht.
-
The automatic headlight is too fast. Therefore, at dusk from 4 pm to 5 pm, the headlights will turn on or operate except during the day. Lights can sometimes be a troublesome problem.
-
The storage space in the cabin + USB port is very small
-
The rear seat folding is not very flat
-
The driver's seat is manual adjustment
Summary
For me, I am happy with this car, especially with my small family, 3-4 people living in the city.
Don’t drive more than 120 km/h and it is very fuel-efficient, with soft and good suspension, spacious cabin, and a responsive engine. In conclusion, it is worth waiting for more than two months.
