Basic information
2016 Toyota Sienta V spec
Reasons why I bought this car
- For daily use and "balik kampung" where the previous car (vios s spec) already too cramp.
- Rear aircon blower where even the third row can feel it
- Practical seat configuration where either i want to use all 7 seat or i can full fold all 5 seat to make space for very large cabin space and the third row can fit adult with 170cm height for long distance due to low floor design
- Similar engine and gearbox with vios, so spare parts is easier to find and maintenance wise is cheap
- Automatic sliding door
- Size similar to alza, so for town use is very easy
Car selection process
- I had a budget of: rm70k to rm110k
- Models that I have considered include: Alza, Exora, Grand Livina, Livina X-Gear, and Wish
- Reasons why I chose this car:
- exterior looks kinda fresh
- interior design also fresh, modern i would say and have a lot of compartment too
- 3rd row seat can fit 2 adult comfortably, and if not use can fold and put under 2nd row seat
- rear aircon blower
- automatic sliding door
- very comfortable
- fuel economy (similar with myvi icon)
- NVH is good, better then Aruz, Ertiga, BRV and Alza
User experience
- I have already done 168,000 km.
Overall, its a huge upgrade from previous car (vios). The rear boot space can either seat by people or put many luggage. The comfortness for long distance drive also improve a lot. It come with Toyota own tinted but still can feel burn to my skin when its really hot in the mid of afternoon, so i add magnetic sunshade to all door mirror except front windscreen (of course la.. hehe). There's a few minor problem but Toyota Service Center replace it without any issue eg auto tensioner, steering with peel off leather skin, and fall off front dashcam.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- From outside is like alza size, but inside is like bigger then exora.
- Good NVH (better then BRV and Aruz) according to aruz and BRZ owner where they ride inside Toyota Sienta with me.
- Practical seat configuration, even with Mitsubishi Outlander still Toyota Sienta can bring 6 people including driver with 5 luggage where Outlander cant.
- Maintenance wise is similar with bezza and vios
Cons
- From static acceleration is kinda slow (due to its weight at 1300kg with a mere 1.5 liter engine).
- Additional to cover front windscreen is expensive, i need to add rm600 to cover almost rm4k.
- No front sensor which i think is ridiculous, even bezza and axia have it.
- Auto tensioner gggggrrrr sound is common problem for all toyota sienta came from indonesia

Summary
Lastly i would say Sienta is the best car for my family. Maybe its not for everyone, but for me Sienta just tick every single thing that i need from vehicle that i use for daily basis. Its comfortable, its cheap to maintain, its small in size where make it easier to maneuver inside town area, spare parts is easy to get and all my kids and wife really like toyota sienta.
