Owner Review: My return to Proton after a while - My 2020 Proton X50 Flagship

2020 Proton x50 flagship

Reasons why I bought this car(purpose):

I am attracted by the car safety features which only(normally) offer in the luxury range of other car brands, plus the 3 cylinder engine.

Car selection process

I have a budget of: RM120,000 -150,000

Models that I have considered include: Mazda 

Reasons why I chose this car:

With the price below RM120,000.00 I can get the features of RM200,000.00 car. 

User Experience

• I have done: 11,000 km
• My average fuel consumption is about: 9.3 km/l

Overall the car just meets the reasons I bought it at the very first place, powerful, good sound proof(in B SUV range). The sun roof makes a difference when sitting behind. Safety functions well, the outline looks modern and outstanding from a normal Proton car. Have high confidence in the handling and car performance, never doubt during overtaking another car. My kid likes cars a lot. I like the car. Worth buying. 

Pros and Cons

Pros of my car

powerful engine, all safety features working well, the seat is comfortable, good sound proof, good outline, the storage space and the auto smart tag, auto headlight very useful, both sides auto lock very friendly. 

Cons

Hi Proton with limited command, and response is slow, cannot link to mobile app, boot storage small and door opening too low

Summary:

Many friends surprise I bought the car, as this will be my 1st Proton car since 1994. Many has doubts its quality and performance. I decided to buy since its first launch of Flagship. Now when I give my friends a ride, everyone is impressed with the car; the power, the comfort, the safety feature, the IT and so on. Even some IT features are probably not working, but I don't mind as it doesn't affect my driving. The 3 cylinder engine really good. After 10,000km driving, no minor or major defects noted, this already a plus to Proton.
