Basic information about my car:

2013  Mazda 6 Skyactiv G，RM159,000

Reasons why I bought this car(purpose):

1. Good Styling 
2. Sporty look
3. Clean simple interior design
4. Skyactiv technology uses high compression to achieve better power and fuel economy.

Car Selection Process

• I had a budget of RM 180,000
• Models that I have considered include: VW Passat, A Class Benz

1. The Japanese reliability
2. I nearly wanted the VW, but the DSG problem at that time makes me give up the idea
3. I have always liked the Mazda concept of "Driver's car" and I have a Mazda GT in the 80's which gives me a good impression of Mazda drivability and reliability.
4. The sporty silhouette of this car is a big reason for choosing the Mazda.
5. I go online to look at YouTube reviews of this car and almost all reviews are good for this car.

User Experience

• I have already done 86,000 km.
• My average fuel consumption is 13km/L.

1. Fuel economy
2. Moderate power
3. Good driving experience in terms of handling

Pros and Cons

Pros of my car

1. Good fuel economy
2. Good styling
3. Low cost of maintenance

Cons

1. Not so good low end torque
2. Poor headroom for back passengers due to the sloping roof line.
3. No spare tyre 
4. Noise insulation is not so good

Summary:

Good car overall, love it for its fuel economy and the looks and styling. Built quality is really good, I would say better than some of the other big name Japanese cars. 

Lastly: 

I drove this car with my wife to Phuket in December of 2019, just before the Covid pandemic. It was a memorable trip for us as we stayed 11 days in Thailand visiting many places like Krabi and Hatyai. Apart from this trip, we have also driven it to Hatyai twice over my ownership of this car.
