Just bought a used 2012 city with 90k on the odo, should I replace the shock absorbers for safety? Recently just bought a used 2012 Honda City as my first car. I love driving this car. However, my friend told me that I need to change the shock absorbers as this is an old car. He said usually suspensions are needed to be replaced at around 100k km. Is this statement he made true? How to tell if the suspensions are needed to be replaced?

Is the car noisy? If noisy, the suspension feels ‘loose’, not very comfortable, then yes, you need to replace them already. Or else, it’s gonna be problematic for other components as well.

If you have extra money laying around and want optimal driving experience. Then go ahead. Also, I would suggest since you are replacing the suspension anyway, why not go with aftermarket one? They generally provide better experience and quality than original one if chosen correctly.
