From the looks alone, you can't spot any differences as it just looks like another ordinary Mercedes-Benz E-Class. However, this is something different from what we have know or heard about modern day hybrids on sale in Malaysia.
Introduction
The Mercedes-Benz E300 Bluetec Hybrid is a diesel-powered hybrid vehicle introduced back in 2015 with an eye-watering RM349k approximately. This makes it about RM18,000 cheaper than the E200 due to the hybrid tax exemption.
Engine and Performance
The E300 Bluetec Hybrid was powered by a 2.1-liter turbocharged diesel engine mated with an electric motor. This gives it an immensely powerful 580Nm of torque and translates into a 7.1 second acceleration from standstill to 100.
Additionally, this allows the car to travel up to a maximum speed of 242km/h and only uses a maximum of 4.1L/100km of fuel.
What's so special?
Back when Malaysia only sold Euro 2M grade diesel, it might be considered amazing in my humble opinion.
To ensure it can run on Euro 2M, Mercedes-Benz had removed the particulate filter and added a water seperator.
