Hi everyone , can I please have your verdicts for UHP tyres listed below ? - Michelin PS4 - Continental MC6 - Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport - Bridgestone RE004 Currently driving a Civic FC 1.8s , running on 215/45/17 Michelin PS4 ; am looking for a new rim and also to fit bigger tyres , preferably 225/45/17 or 235/45/17. Just wanted to see if I could run a maybe cheaper UHP tyre as I’m upsizing or should I stick with Michelin PS4. Thank you!

High performance 300HP car use PS4 stock from factory but all our cars basically under 200HP and we want to stick the top tiers Ps4, Csc sport, mc6, re004 tires into our sub 200HP ride which we probably under utilize our car full potential even.. Honestly we are over-spending these money on a well successful executed brainwashing marketing, That PS4 give you +20lvl on grips because GTR35 and EVOX use it, it could probably up your cornering performance in those Altis. These money you can better spend on support mods for your car better but it is true it is your money but im all for advocating wiser spending thats all. There are many good performance even models such as Blacklion BU66, GiTi Sport S1, GT Radial Champiro HPX ,HPY, some Toyo brands, all have superb wet and dry traction which dont short-change your car performance or safety. Mostly these are not only grand touring tires but HP or UHP all season tires . Some mentioned landsail, delante, etc Well u do ur own research well unless you got the dough, dont have the time, then by all means just get the toptier brands but if you're on budget... Learn to research tires NOT by brandnames but by Model names, you google in tirereview for the model names, plenty of customers owners reviews, total mileages runned by that specific models ,used on what size rim,etc . Do some study and you can get what your moneys worth

Ur stock 215/45 is 96.75mm 225/45 is 101mm pretty close (225*0.45) 235/40 is 94mm closest to ur stock but this profile tire is rare ,rare means expensive. So u either go wit 225/45 or stick stock

True that bro! Actually the ratio for me is already off as I should be running 215/50 on my car. However, I think u are right , 225/45 will be a good size!

It is too convenient to recommend the highest price Michelin PS4, Conti top spec tires or Bridgestone RE004, there's no challenge in it and boring...altho i'm using RE004 myself just because its came wit the stock 235 45R17. Ive used d PS4 before and their treadwear is so short. I changed tires within a year, it makes me doubt my repeat purchase because it isnt cheap at all. So over the years (in my previous ride ), I have started looking out for alternatives to these top models. Competent enuf performance for daily spirited in 170HP-300HP cars, (i.e. 170-200 in dry straight, cruising 120 in rain, short burst spirited driving 160 in drizzling or wet road ) yet very wallet friendly and thus have become my regular pattern in tire looking regime. My recommendations are mostly great in most area where it matters, dry and wet grip, hardbraking, & abit NVH. Ive personally used few rounds of 17'' Hankook Evo V12, & 18'' Nexen (or Roadstone) Nfera SU1 then both under rm400, excel in the area i mentioned and good treadwear. Falken ze912 abit noise. My upcoming is 235 45 17 Toyo Proxes CF2 almost half the price from the best but excel in all major aspects. My point is dont let the popularity of top brands tires make you overlooked abundant worthy and very competent tires model that gives good performance and sometime NVH &,treadwear at 50-70% the price. Im a car enthusiast I never skim on quality, mind you. I am one of the user of these tires.
