I prefer used as I appreciates the older design plus it has taken the depreciation already. For Euro cars which I have had a few, I ensure the car mechanicals and service history checked out. For those I am unsure of I will do a pre-purchase inspection by specialist which I did with my current Mercedes-Benz V251 R-Class. The specialist listed all the things needed attention later on and even that he said good value for the asking price with the work done. I would never buy recond or grey imports for any cars newer than 1991 due to the problems with airbag and electronics on later models. For example if you have a recond JDM car and it is listed as having to have its Takata airbags replaced, how do you go about it? Local Toyota dealer will not be bothered. Even the latest cars have issue like fuel pump on Toyota last year and Kia ones with fuel lines defect.

No new car that i like. I prefer 90s to 2000s design and can do research on maintenance items befor buyimg. Can also research online for problems or troubleshooting

Used car means we know it's reliability, production duration, spare parts availability.

Sometimes, to get something you want, used is the only option as some of the cars you really want might have already gone out of production, however you don't get warranties or free services when buying used and interest rates for paying installments for used cars are higher

If you're not familiar with car mechanical knowledge, and money is not your concern, then go for new cars. But if you know a lot about cars and even professional, it's easy to find a good used car with a low price.
