Any ideas on Akio Toyoda’s criticism of electric vehicles? Recently the president of Toyota, Akio Toyoda, argued that electric vehicles were overhyped, saying the advocates failed to think about the carbon emission during electricity generation and the cost of EV transition. He added Japan would run out of electricity in the summer if all cars were 100% electric. Guys, what do you think about it?

Honestly EV is not the way to solve the worldwide energy problem, cuz electricity must come from heat energy, which is transformed from petrol, coal, or nuclear. Hydrogen is the fuel of the future imo…

I comprehend his concern, but I don’t totally agree with him.
The modern fuel cars are much less polluting than before, and the use of hybrid cars also increases. As for EVs, in spite of clean energy, we can’t escape the problems of used batteries as well as the pollution of power stations.
But if there are more advanced charging stations in the future, then I would definitely use EV, after all technology is to move us forward

True...true.. Unless they can produce 100% pollution-free electricity(solar cell, wind turbine, tidal power, etc.) and ensure the amount would suffice the domestic use
